“Canada in Bloom” is an elaborate, regal, and whimsical journey across Canada. This story is a celebration of Canadian botanical symbols told through embellished textile interpretations of our 13 Provincial flowers. From stem to stigma, each bespoke floral design is handcrafted with meticulous detail using luxurious designer fabrics, thoughtfully selected by the province to represent our nation’s natural history and regional identity from faux fur and plush velvet to royal sateen and coastal linen.

Through layers of intentional detail, this tablescape was designed to inspire, delight, surprise, honour, and educate. The lush velvet tablecloth is intricately embroidered with all 13 flowers. Beneath each plate are etchings of cultural icons, from the inukshuk to the hockey stick. Canada’s connection to the British monarchy and our host province are both represented through custom napkin embroidery. The gift box affixed to each chair contains a pine sapling, a classic silhouette of the Canadian landscape. On display in homage to our host town is its official flower, the 1812 Rose. Known as the “Fairy Tale” rose, this singular live bloom brings our fantastical exposition into reality and pays tribute to the imagination and dedication of local growers and our region’s horticultural legacy.

SWI approached this tablescape with the same thoughtful consideration and attention to detail as we do any design project. We drew inspiration from nature and our country’s heritage to curate a uniquely personal narrative that celebrates our unity and diversity in exquisite detail and extravagant proportion.
