The John Street Project
Bold Elegance Meets Heritage in a Niagara-on-the-Lake Icon

Set within one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s most historically cherished homes—famously featured in the artwork of Trisha Romance—this project was a celebration of personality, imagination, and preservation.
With a strong foundation in Victorian architecture, our goal was to honour the integrity of the home while infusing each room with character, opulence, and a touch of fantasy.
The design is a bold, maximalist blend of whimsical and modern elements, brought to life through daring fabric choices, rich trims, and an unapologetic embrace of pattern and colour.
From a Titanic-inspired nautical space to woodland-themed rooms featuring Ashley Wilde fabrics, every corner tells a unique story. We approached each room thematically, anchoring the design around a single visual cue and building out from there.
Highlights include a plush, Marilyn Monroe-inspired retreat layered in soft whites, faux fur, and blush tones, and a moody pink “dream room” wrapped in ethereal cloud wallpaper and finished with custom cabinetry and a hint of Marie Antoinette’s flair.
This project was a creative playground—where history met fantasy, and classic structure danced with bold, theatrical flair. A true testament to what happens when a client trusts their vision and dares to design without limits.
